Zoology Department

 

The Department of Zoology was established in 1982 imparting teaching at undergraduate level (B.Sc.) with Dr. O. P. Verma as its first Head. Dr. K. K. C. Vishwapremi joined the Department as Head and moulded the destiny of the Department during his tenure. During this period, the Department acquired a particular prominence. He was succeeded by Dr. Vishwadeepak Sir and through his untiring efforts he placed the Department on the national map as a well-known Centre for teaching in Zoological Sciences. In, 2019, Dr. Amarendra K. Pandey took over the Department and provided boost to Zoological Researches; particularly Biological Control of Insect Pests using Indigenous Soil borne Entomopathogenic Fungi. At present the faculty strength in the Department is three and is actively engaged in devising newer teaching methodologies which can provide not only academic strength but also cultural renovations in the youth of upcoming generations.
